The permanent exhibition is a systematic introduction to the diverse indigenous cultures of Taitung.

Highlights of the Taitung Indigenous Peoples Culture Center

The Culture Center is located on Zhongxing Road in Taitung City and is managed by the Taitung County Government's Indigenous Peoples Administration. The exhibition is organized by ethnic group and covers the patterns and craft techniques of traditional clothing, everyday implements, ceremonial objects, and architectural models for each group. Notably, the Paiwan glass bead culture, Puyuma ceremonial objects from the Great Hunting Ritual, and explanations of the Bunun eight-part polyphonic singing are all covered in depth.

Explanatory text in the museum is primarily in Chinese, with some exhibition areas featuring indigenous language audio guides. It is recommended to read the written descriptions carefully as you go, to build a foundational understanding of each group's annual ceremonies, social organization, and way of life. When visiting, please approach the displayed artifacts with respect — do not touch or mimic ceremonial objects.
