Qingren Lake Park consists of two connected natural lakes with lakeside walking paths and wooden boardwalks. Aquatic plants and waterbirds inhabit the area, keeping the ecosystem in a natural state. It is the main natural recreational space in Xinyi District, well suited for walking and nature observation.
What to See at Qingren Lake Park
The lake water is fed by rainwater draining from the surrounding hills, forming a low-elevation mountain lake. Wetland vegetation along the shore — including submerged and emergent water plants — provides habitat for waterbirds; resident species can be observed while walking the lakeside trail. Wooden boardwalks extend over the water surface and marshy ground, allowing close-up observation of aquatic life.
The park has a relatively quiet atmosphere and is not a high-traffic tourist destination — it suits visitors who prefer unhurried nature walks. Keelung receives abundant rainfall, keeping the wetland environment intact year-round, but expect wet and slippery paths on rainy days. One full loop around the lake takes about 30 to 40 minutes, with gentle gradients throughout.
