📍 Tainan · Baihe District · Liantan Village🏞️ Nature🔖 Lotus season (June–August) · lotus field walkways · lotus agricultural products

Baihe District in Tainan is well known for growing water lilies and lotus. From June to August each year, when the flowers are in full bloom, the sweeping fields of lotus draw large numbers of photographers and visitors. The park has viewing walkways along the fields, and nearby farms sell lotus root tea, lotus seeds, lotus root powder, and other related agricultural products. It is a signature agritourism attraction in northern Tainan.

What to see at Baihe Lotus Park

The farmland around Liantan Village in Baihe District has long been planted with lotus over a wide area, making it one of the regions in Taiwan with the highest concentration of lotus cultivation. Different varieties are grown in rotation by season, with water lilies being the main type. The bloom period runs from June to August, and flowers are most fully open in the early morning. The park's surroundings are typical southern Tainan rural landscape — farm lanes, ponds, and lotus fields interspersed to form a distinctive pastoral scene.

During the lotus season, nearby farms set up stalls selling fresh lotus root, lotus seeds, lotus root tea bags, and processed products. Some farms offer a lotus-picking experience, letting visitors come close to the fields and observe the flowers growing up close. Outside the lotus season months, the agricultural landscape is unremarkable and not worth a special trip — June through August is the only season worth visiting.

Tips for getting the most out of your visit

🌅
Visit early morning to see the flowersLotus flowers typically open from early to mid-morning. Arriving between 7 and 9 a.m. is recommended — the light is soft and the flowers are at their most open. In the afternoon, the petals gradually close.
📅
June–August only — a strictly seasonal attractionThe fields are uninteresting outside the lotus season. This is a highly seasonal destination, so confirm your travel dates fall within the bloom period before planning.
🛒
Buy lotus-country produceStalls nearby sell lotus root tea, lotus seeds, and processed goods — local agricultural specialties that make good Tainan souvenirs at friendly prices.
🚗
Bring your own transportationThe farm lanes around Baihe Lotus Park are spread out and public transport is inconvenient. Riding a scooter or driving is recommended so you can follow the distribution of the lotus fields freely.
