Taipei Fine Arts Museum opened in 1983 as Taiwan's first public museum dedicated to modern and contemporary art, known for its four-story geometric white building. The collection focuses primarily on modern and contemporary Taiwanese art. The basement level houses a Children's Art Education Center. Adjacent to Taipei Expo Park, the museum offers a combined experience of architectural appreciation, exhibition viewing, and outdoor leisure.

Highlights of Taipei Fine Arts Museum

Taipei Fine Arts Museum was designed by architect Kao Er-pan, with an exterior featuring interlocking white geometric volumes that make the building itself a visual landmark in the city. The collection exceeds 4,000 works, focusing on the trajectory of Taiwan's visual arts from postwar modernism onward, with regularly rotating permanent exhibitions and domestic and international contemporary art special exhibitions. The museum is also the organizing institution for Taiwan's pavilion at the Venice Biennale, playing an important role in the international contemporary art scene.

The outdoor plaza features installation artworks, and the adjacent Taipei Expo Park functions as a general public park outside of event periods — the two together form a visit route that combines art with outdoor activity. The Children's Art Education Center on the basement level offers interactive displays for younger visitors, making it suitable for family outings. The museum cafe and bookstore are open all day and can serve as a gathering point before or after viewing exhibitions.
