F3 Art Village was created by converting a cluster of abandoned fishing-port warehouses in Fangliao into an arts space. The most immediate visual impression is hundreds of meters of painted walls. From weathered industrial buildings to a color-saturated art environment, the site represents a small-town effort to reinvent itself through cultural creativity, and it regularly hosts markets and arts events.
What to see at Fangliao Art Village
Fangliao's economy was historically built on fishing; the port warehouses sat idle as the industry declined. The Art Village project brought artists in to transform warehouse exterior walls and fences into large-scale outdoor canvases. Themes span ocean ecology, Taiwanese folk culture, and abstract works. The village extends several hundred meters in length, and a full walking tour takes at least half an hour.
Beyond the painted walls, the village has installation art and temporary exhibition spaces. Informal markets appear on weekends with local produce and handmade crafts. Fangliao sits beside the Taiwan Strait, so the art village's surroundings offer sea views on clear days, and soft afternoon light makes the painted walls particularly photogenic around sunset.
