Yuanlin Xingxian Academy is a Qing-dynasty academy monument in Yuanlin City, Changhua County, originating from a Wenchang Shrine founded in 1807 (Jiaqing 12). Historical accounts differ on when the shrine was rebuilt into an academy — some sources date it to the Daoguang reign, others to 1881 (Guangxu 7) — and the site was designated a county-level historic monument on November 27, 1985. Its layout is a south-facing, two-courtyard compound; the main hall and worship pavilion collapsed completely in the 1999 921 earthquake, and restoration began in 2003 and was completed in 2005 with a re-consecration ceremony. Founded in 1807, it predates the other academies of Changhua County, making it the earliest of the county's academy monuments.

The academy's architectural layout follows the traditional Minnan temple configuration, combining the dual functions of religious worship and education.

Compared with Changhua County's other two academies — Hepei Daodong Academy and Lukang Wenci Shrine — Xingxian Academy is located within Yuanlin city proper, making it relatively easy to reach. Its architecture retains the traditional Minnan layout, with ridge decorations and carved wooden components reflecting Qing-dynasty craftsmanship. Although the structure has undergone repairs, the main fabric still maintains its Qing-dynasty form. The academy is open to the public on a regular basis and is an important node along Yuanlin's historical and cultural route.
