Shanshui Beach is a natural shell-sand beach about 800 meters long on Magong's eastern outskirts, known for its fine white sand and clear water — one of the few fine-sand beaches on Penghu's main island. With larger waves than most Penghu beaches, it is also one of the few spots suited to surfing, and from April to June it is a well-known site for viewing Penghu's bioluminescent "blue tears."

Shanshui Beach stretches about 800 meters and is made of fine crushed shell sand ranging from golden to white — distinct from Penghu's more common basalt and sandstone coastlines. Its stronger wave conditions make it one of the few beaches in Penghu suitable for surfing, and from April to June the nighttime bioluminescence known as "blue tears" can often be seen there.
